VU-wireless

September 28th, 2010 by

Like telephones and televisions, computers have become a pertinent part of today’s way of life. In fact, it has become so important that many people no longer can live without, and need to have their computer nearby at all time. It does not matter if it is for personal or business reasons, but these users need to be connected to the Internet, and the only way that is possible is if they acquire a wireless network system.
‘Wireless’ is a general expression referring to countless forms of data transmission that do not use metal wires or optical fibers to operate. These communication systems allow frequently used devices, such as phones and computers to become mobile, helping people to stay connected wherever they are.
Common wireless systems are not as secure as hard wired ones and need constant OEE downtime monitoring system. For hackers, accessing and attacking wireless networks is easier than the hard wire ones, and so is eavesdropping and scouting your data. Fortunately there are ways to protect your Wi-Fi LAN from hardcore hackers. You can implement security systems, change your default password, hide your SSID, activate encryption, and use address filtering systems.
The newest wireless communication technology brings essential changes to data networking and how the worldpopulation telecommunicates today. Through its ever growing implementation, integrated wireless networking has become a vast reality, one that is definitely here to stay.

Featured article – Wireless router guide

Wireless router guideAny wireless computer network is incomplete without a wireless router, a network device that routes wireless IP traffic across several wireless IP networks – IP meaningInternet Protocol. The wireless router usually connects to a broadband (Internet) connection and in turn will transmit to wireless network adapters in laptops or other computers, and connect them to a network server or printer, or to the Internet.
Using a wireless router makes using a laptop computer much more enjoyable, because it allows you the freedom to access the Internet, files, or printers from virtually any location in your home or yard. Setting up a wireless router is easy and only requires a few simple steps, which are explained on the instructions sheet, CD-Rom, or manual delivered with the router.
Wireless routers typically advertise their speed in megabits per second (Mbps), and as tempting as it may be to buy the router with the highest Mbps rating, the actual performance you will achieve in practice will typically average much lower than what the router’s package advertises. Furthermore, it is a myth that high speed routers will enable you to speed up your Internet connection, and in the end, the extra speed boost from a faster router may not be worth the extra expense.
When you are in the market, consider buying a wireless Internet router of the same brand as at least one of your wireless network adapters. The advantage is small, yet sometimes vendors will optimize communication protocols of their own equipment, and therefore, you may experience a slightly higher performance rate.
There are many wireless routers available, and to label which one is the most efficient is virtually impossible. Many factors have to be considered, such as the speed the data is transmitted, the transmission range, how much interference it picks up, and how easy the device is to use. Before buying any kind of equipment always compare reviews and check what kind of warranty wireless Internet router manufacturers provide for their equipment. The terms and duration of these warranties vary widely, and one can safely say that superior warranties indicate a higher level of reliability and customer service support by its maker.

Wireless Networking for Home

September 28th, 2010 by

Now you’ve done it. You’ve bought a laptop. It might be because you felt tied down to your computer room and needed fresh air, or it might be your son or daughter needed it for homework. You take it out of the box and it’s shiny and new, and you can’t wait to get started. But how do you connect it to the internet?

Relax! A wireless home network is as easy as 1-2-3 to install and setup. You can do it, and even your child can do it. All you need is a wireless router.

Routers are the connection from your internet to your computer. Most laptops now come complete with “Wireless network adaptors”. For PC’s you may need to purchase a wireless network adaptor at your local computer supplies store.

Flash drivesThere are multiple routers available, but for a home router you want something reliable. A workhorse. The G rated routers are a nice home router. If you want a thoroughbred, go with the N rated routers. Sights like ConsumerSearch.com will help you find the best router for you.

Install the provided software, plug in the router to your internet connection and setup the service. Wireless routers today come with multiple “traditional” plug in connections, so if you have one pc that is wired, feel free to setup the router close to that machine.

The software will create a “key” or “password” of sorts. Write it down. Carefully – because it’s usually very long. This will be needed by every computer trying to connect to your router. Ensure this does get setup – otherwise everyone driving down your street will be able to use YOUR internet service.
The nice thing about wireless connectivity, is once you have the network ready and online, connecting is a breeze. Once your computer searches for a network, and finds it, you click on it, type in the long password/code, select connect and you’re online!

Remember, setting up the router and connection is as simple. Go ahead, take the leap!

SEO - The New Website Style

September 28th, 2010 by

Search Engine Optimization is growing in popularity as a tool for upgrading websites that are Search Engine Marketing focused. Traditional marketing mechanisms are incompatible with today’s dizzying speed of online marketing. Search Engine Optimisation combines a viable and very useful tool for driving attention to websites. It’s already achieved a proven track record for increasing sales. Commonly referred to in the brief form SEO, it utilizes the speed of a search engine to bring sales to websites.

Through the use of a search engine, websites can maximize the traffic to their site by simply creating keywords that are generic, yet accurately represent the website. For the SEO copywriters who create the websites, it’s a matter of insuring that the correct keywords are inserted into website content as a link from search engine direct as possible to the website. If keywords are too broad, the number of hits a potential customer gets number in the thousands. If they are too specific, the user may not accurately pinpoint the key words in the website content.

As an example, if the keyword throughout a website is “company”, search engines inevitably list thousands of sites with the key word “company” referenced anywhere in the websites’ contents. However, if the key word is “engineering company”, the number of hits a search engine produces will decrease. The most accurate way to deal with this is to be specific enough to be found but not too specific to be lost. Search Engine Optimisation simply means to optimize the search engine for the best possible use for marketing and sales.

To develop a list of the most important key words for each individual website. Key words shouldn’t number more than 5 in any website content. Too many key words and website content becomes indistinct. Too few and SEO is diminished.

Hope these few SEO and internet marketing tips will help you in better optimization of your site.
